Hilti Group: Disposal solutions - appreciated by our customers
Since 2006, Hellmann Process Management (HPM) has been supporting the Hilti Group, one of the world's leading construction technology groups, in the fields of waste electrical and electronic equipment disposal and compliance with WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment).
The initial situation
The internationally active Hilti Group is consolidating its waste equipment, in order to disposed of it in repair centres, and has been faced with the challenge of ensuring that waste equipment is disposed of in a safe and legally compliant manner. In many countries, this has been associated with a considerable amount of expense.
Solution
Transparency and safety are top priorities for the Hilti Group when it comes to the disposal of waste equipment. Based on our experience in presenting holistic waste disposal solutions, we jointly developed and implemented an international recycling concept tailored specifically to the needs of the Hilti Group in order to meet these requirements. Due to various legal, technical, and also economic conditions, it was firstly necessary to define uniform standards which could be transferred to the individual countries. It was also important to take into account country-specific features and framework conditions in order to individually adapt the concept. As part of its implementation, transparency and security were increased, and legal conformity was guaranteed. In addition, costs and revenues in the waste management sector have been significantly optimised.
"It is important for us to integrate our responsibility for society and the environment into our core business. The introduction of our international recycling concept makes a significant contribution here."
