The ElektroG defines the procedure for determining the collection obligations of registered manufacturers/authorised representatives (§ 3 No. 9f ElektroG). This only applies to WEEE from private households which can be returned by citizens through the municipal collection system. The collection obligations cover the entire territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. hpm will take on the provision of containers as well as the complete logistical handling for you. As an independent service provider, we operate with certified network partners in waste disposal management, this, of course, being in compliance with the legally prescribed recycling quotas.

Shared product responsibility

In Germany, so-called shared product responsibility was introduced for the disposal of old electrical and electronic equipment. This means that essential obligations lie, on the one hand, with the public waste management authorities (örE) and on the other hand with the producers of electrical and electronic equipment. The örE are obliged to set up collection points for waste electrical and electronic equipment and to take the equipment there free of charge. Producers may also voluntarily offer their own takeback systems.

Collection coordination or self-takeback?

In addition to the örE collection points, the "device-specific self-takeback" is an effective and sustainable way of assuming your product responsibility. The quantities collected yourself reduce the örE amounts allocated by the EAR Foundation. Taking into account all relevant legal requirements, we will be happy to advise you on whether self-takeback is a sensible and economical alternative for equipment you have placed on the market.

In addition to the self-return of WEEE, we also offer comparable solutions for batteries and accumulators - both nationally and internationally.
